John S Cook Bank
Building: The three-story building located on Golden Street. It's one of the most
photographed buildings in Nevada ghost towns.

HD & LD Porter Store: This was
a store that carried everything a person could need. We would probably compare it to a modern day
Wal-Mart.
-
-
Rhyolite School House: A bond was
issued to build this building. The bond was not fully paid until long after the demise of Rhyolite.

Remains of Rhyolite, Nevada. Date unknown. The jail is in the foreground. The tall
building is the remains of the John S Cook & Co. building. The Gorrill Building is next to the Cook building.
And the Overbury Building and Porter Store are on the left facing each other with Golden Street between
them.
