The Las Vegas & Tonopah railroad, 260 miles the shortest route to the Nevada gold country, is now open to business to Rhyolite, in the Bullfrog district, 123 miles from Las Vegas on the main line of the Salt Lake route.
The Las Vegas & Tonopah was opened to Rhyolite for freight transportation last week. All the yard tracks and spurs have been practically completed, and over 100 carloads of freight which have been held along the line are now coming in.
Excrusion to Rhyolite. The Clark railroad people are preparing for a miners' day excursion from Los Angeles to the Bullfrog district the latter part of this month.
Mine owners in the Bullfrog district, especially in the neighborhood of Rhyolite, are in a fever of excitement over the sensational discovery made in the West Extension property by "Shorty" Harris, who discovered the Bullfrog.
