Time was not wasted in making improvements in the he townsite of Rhyolite, Nevada. Within a year the town had services and conveniences found in most cities at the time.

By May of 1910, there were no street lights, the water company had closed, and the banks were gone. With the population down
to below 1,000, the Porter Store had a final sale and closed its doors for good.

The Tom Kelly bottle house in Rhyolite, Nevada was completed in 1906. This page gives a little history of the bottle house and includes pictures of it shortly after completion and in the ghost town today.

The Overbury Building in Rhyolite, Nevada served as a bank when it was first opened. It also house a jewelry store and other offices. Remains can be seen in the ghost town. This page gives some information about the building and some photos.

The HD & LD Porter Store in Rhyolite, Nevada was built in 1906. It was a general merchandise store and carried just about everything a person could want or need. The store front can be seen on Golden Street in the ghost town today.

The Las Vegas & Tonopah Railroad Depot was completed in 1908. The railroad station is one of the few complete buildings still standing in the ghost town of Rhyolite, Nevada today. See this page for more information and photos.

The Rhyolite school house was completed during the school year of 1907-1908. Remnants of the school building can be seen in the ghost town today. This page contains more info and some photos.
